Mark F. Kneuper, MD, FACS, FACPh
Dr. Kneuper was raised in New Braunfels and is a proud Unicorn alumnus. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he was awarded a degree in Biochemistry. He enrolled in Medical School at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and graduated in 1986. After an internship in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he completed a residency in General Surgery in Cleveland, Ohio.
While in Cleveland, he met and married his wife, Jean. Returning to New Braunfels in 1992, Dr. Kneuper took over the practice of Hylmar E. Karbach, Jr., MD and has actively practiced General Surgery since then. He served as Chief of Staff at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels in 2010. He and Jean have two children, Robert and Katherine.
Dr. Kneuper’s interest in antireflux surgery began early in his career. During his residency, he trained under Dr. Jeff Peters, who worked in Omaha with a pioneer of Sugical Antireflux, Dr. Tom DeMeester. Dr. Kneuper was taught the Surgical and Physiologic Principles of Reflux, which guide the current successful anti-reflux procedures. He was one of the first surgeons in this area to adopt the laparoscopic approach to antireflux surgery in the mid-1990s. The TIF is the newest and most innovative anti reflux procedure available . The TIF is a proven procedure which follows the surgical principles of antireflux surgery established in the 1950s and it can be done without any incisions! Rebecca Guler – PA-C
Becky: since 2011, received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1997. She then worked in research for seven years at the University of Texas Health Science Center before beginning her Physician Assistant training. She received her Masters in PA Studies from UTHSCSA in May of 2008 and began her career in Family Practice where she worked for two years before joining New Braunfels Surgical Associates/Hill Country Vein Center. Becky and her husband Tim have been married for thirty three years and reside in Blanco. They have four children and three grandchildren.
Jean Kneuper
Jean has been with New Braunfels Surgical Associates/Hill Country Vein Center for over fifteen years and currently enjoys the position of Office Manager. Her career path began as an Optometrist after receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University in 1985. Upon moving to Texas with her husband Mark, she soon joined his practice while also raising their two young children, Robby and Katie.
Maria Lopez
Maria: since 2009, graduated as a proud New Braunfels Unicorn. After that, she graduated from Kaplan Career College in 2007 as a Registered Medical Assistant. Most recently, she furthered her education by completing her training in Vocational Nursing at St. Phillip’s College, graduating in December 2012. She has been with New Braunfels Surgical Associates/Hill Country Vein Center for four years. Maria resides in New Braunfels with her two children, McKinzy and Jarron.
Britanny Davila
Britanny: since 2005, has thirteen years of combined medical front office and billing experience. She has been employed by New Braunfels Surgical Associates/Hill Country Vein Center since 2005 and is the Billing Manager. Britanny and her husband Mike reside in New Braunfels with their son Santana.
Shannon Mena
Shannon: since 2010, has been working in the medical field for five years and has worked with New Braunfels Surgical Associates/Hill Country Vein Center for three years. She holds the position of Surgery Scheduler. She and her husband Armando reside in New Braunfels with their daughter Mia.
AJ Panebianco
AJ: since 2013, has been working with Texas Reflux Solutions full-time. AJ is the practice manager for both Texas Reflux Solutions and Hill Country Vein Center. She helps schedule appointments, coordinate office events, answer phones and organize Dr. Kneuper’s schedule.
